Executive Management
Our executive management team is composed of highly trained professionals with experience
in valuation, collateral due diligence, technology, econometrics, real estate investment
analysis, and urban planning. Skilled in nearly all matters related to residential
and commercial real estate valuation, Property Sciences’ professionals have been
accepted as experts in the field of real estate valuation for private, public, and
governmental agencies. Combined with a large professionally licensed appraiser staff,
a highly culled panel of industry participants, and state of the art technology,
we are uniquely qualified to advise you in your most important real estate collateral
decisions.
Mr. Chandler is a recognized industry leader whose 30 years of experience have turned
Property Sciences into a national brand. Both the company's residential and commercial
divisions continually benefit from his background in valuation, appraisal, lender-platform
technology development, and online and print media. Prior to forming Property Sciences,
he was Senior Vice President of Corinthian Real Estate, where he provided financial
institutions with market analysis, branching strategy and site acquisition consulting.
Mr. Chandler founded Commercial Lender magazine in 1995 and C-Lender.com in 1999,
and grew them both into market share leaders prior to their purchase by Scotsman
Publishing in 2001. He is the former publisher of the California Housing Report,
a frequent speaker at real estate events throughout the United States, and host
to many professional educational venues. Active within the mortgage industry, Mr.
Chandler has received numerous industry awards including the Affiliate of the Year
Award, the highest honor presented to a non-mortgage broker by the Association of
Mortgage Brokers.
Mr. Chandler holds an MBA with an emphasis in real estate from the Haas School of
Business, University of California, Berkeley and a BS in Business Administration
with an emphasis in finance from the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally,
he holds a California Real Estate Broker's License and previously was an N.A.S.D.
General Securities Registered Principal. He is a member of the Appraisal Institute
holding the MAI designation and is a state certified appraiser with the General
Certification.
Mr. Huynh joined Property Sciences in 2003 as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser.
His appraisal experience includes a variety of complex property types including
valuations of subdivisions, lodging properties and condominium developments. He
currently serves in managerial capacities for the Residential, Commercial, and IT
Divisions. Utilizing his background roles in IT development and project design specifications,
he serves as the bridge between Property Sciences' business operations and technology
teams, overseeing the implementation of integration projects, workflow optimizations,
and other IT-related initiatives. Currently, he sits on the MISMO Property & Valuation
Services Workgroup, tasked with ensuring that data elements related to property
identification and valuation services are identified and logically arranged and
serving as a communication bridge between valuation professionals and the end users
of their services.
Mr. Huynh graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a B.A.
in Economics with a Programming Specialization. He is a Certified General Real Estate
Appraiser.
Joining the Residential Division in 2005, Mr. Kim’s high level of talent quickly
earned him increasing levels of responsibility. A systematic and clear thinker,
he has formalized and implemented a variety of the company’s current workflow management
processes and operational structures. In his current role, he oversees the division’s
day-to-day operations, ensuring execution of company goals and SLAs, promoting
understanding of these standards with associates, and directing curative actions
for exception trends. Mr. Kim is a graduate of the California Mortgage Banker’s
Association’s Future Leaders Program Class of 2010, a program dedicated to identifying
and cultivating the next generation of industry leaders by delivering a comprehensive
leadership training experience.
Mr. Kim earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics with concentrations in Finance and
Econometrics from the University of California at Davis.
Mr. O'Riordan establishes and maintains appraisal policies regarding all residential
valuation products, assists in the resolution of valuation dispute escalations,
and ensures compliance with regulatory and legal requirements as they relate to
collateral valuations. A 14-year veteran of the real estate industry, his specialties
include multi-million dollar residential property valuations and appraisal review,
as well as market analysis for residential real estate throughout the United States.
Mr. O'Riordan earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Economy of Industrial Society
from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a Certified Residential Real
Estate Appraiser.
Mr. Jarolim's comprehensive background includes 11 years as the Chief Appraiser
for IndyMac Bank's Wholesale Division, where he specialized in implementing automated
valuation models for collateral risk assessment, appraisal review training and nationwide
appraisal review. In his current role, he administers the company’s quality control
program, using his 20 years of professional experience to design and implement specifications
for quality grading standards and policies, directing the department to ensure that
the highest standards for quality are maintained, and functioning as conduit between
the company's appraisers and customers.
Mr. Jarolim earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration
in Real Estate and Land Use Affairs from Sacramento State University. He is a Certified
Residential Appraiser.
Mr. Sheaffer rejoined Property Sciences in 2016 as Vice President, Regional Manager of the Pacific Northwest Region. He originally began his appraisal career in his first stint with Property Sciences from 2002 until 2006. Having spent the past decade working in the Pacific Northwest, Mr. Sheaffer has completed assignments throughout various markets in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Prior to joining Property Sciences, Mr. Sheaffer was a Senior Valuation Specialist with Colliers International where he worked on a multifamily team dealing with a high volume of appraisals for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac originators. Mr. Sheaffer also has extensive experience in valuation of hospitality and retail fuel properties. Prior to working for Colliers, Mr. Sheaffer worked for CBRE as a Senior Appraiser in their Portland and Seattle offices focusing on institutional properties.
Mr. Sheaffer graduated from California State University, Hayward with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Mr. Sheaffer is licensed as a Certified General Appraiser in California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
